Shooter Games

What's a Shooter?

They're "shoot-em-up" games played either in the first person (like "Doom" or "Quake") or the third person (like "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider").

Since they tend to be quite violent, they're "non-PC" and don't lend themselves immediately to educational uses.  However, they can be modified to be nonviolent, and shooters are among the most immersive of games.

TwitchSpeed's Straight Shooter:

In games2train's clever and nonviolent "shooter", the usual gun has been replaced by a 3D model of a cell phone, which is used to choose alternatives that solve business problems.

Game Engines:

See our page on game engines, most of which are capable of creating 3D shooter games.
